World Cup 2018 TV Schedule

Portugal’s coach Fernando Santos is seen ahead of the friendly football match between Belgium and Portugal, on June 2, 2018 at the King Baudouin stadium in Brussels.

Consider our whistles whet after Thursday’s opening extravaganza. Russia’s 5-0 demolition of Saudi Arabia has got us all fired up for matchday two of the World Cup 2018, where we’ve got three fixtures to keep us all entertained.

On Friday, we complete the action from Group A’s first round of games, before Group B  gets their campaign underway. Here’s where to catch every single minute of the action:

World Cup 2018 fixtures live on TV:

Egypt vs Uruguay, 14:00 kick off (SAST)

Egypt will have Mo Salah fit and ready after his Champions League final injury scare, whereas the Uruguayans will line-up with Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani up front. The talent on show is mesmeric.

The game will be shown on SABC 1 – or DSTV channel 191 – with the build-up to the game starting at 13:00 and the post-match discussion continuing until 16:30

SuperSport are also broadcasting this on their network, through SuperSport 3. That’s DSTV channel 203. They will be providing a more forensic analysis of the game, however. Their pre-match coverage starts 90 minutes before kick off, at 12:30.

Their wrap up show also goes on until 16:45, where attention will turn to the next fixture on our list shortly afterwards.

Morocco vs Iran, 17:00 kick off

Group B gets underway with two considerable underdogs looking to draw first blood on Friday. Morocco may be determined to prove a point to FIFA, after their bid to host the World Cup 2026 was rejected by the governing body this week.

This game will be shown on SuperSport 3 only, with pre-match coverage following on from the previous game.

SABC will not be providing televised coverage for this one. If you aren’t a DSTV subscriber, it’s worth remembering that thesouthafrican.com is live blogging every single match of the World Cup 2018. Stick with us and you won’t go far wrong.

Spain vs Portugal, 20:00 kick off

Oh, here we go. What a treat this is. Spain have somewhat been rocked by the departure of their head coach on the eve of the World Cup, but it’s all to play for in this Iberian derby. Group games don’t get any sweeter than this.

This match will be shown on both SABC 1 and SuperSport 3. Both will provide an hour build-up from 19:00 and post-match analysis up to 23:00.
