A woman was arrested and charged with drug trafficking after she tried to transport a large amount of dagga in a taxi

The ZFM District team acted on information they received on Friday, 3 February, about a woman suspected of transporting dagga in a taxi to Upington.

Dagga worth over R500k found in taxi

The ZFM District team acted on the information and stopped a taxi on the N14 road outside Upington.

After identifying the woman, they searched her luggage and found dagga worth approximately R 512 500, which they seized.

The 47-year-old woman was arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

Acting District Commander of ZF Mgcawu, Brigadier Peet Coetzee, praised the quick actions of the team.
