Breaking: Winnie Mandela dies, aged 81

Winnie Mandela was admitted to Milpark Hospital on Tuesday evening, to have a ‘minor operation’ on her knee.

The doctor who conducted the surgery said that the procedure was already a ‘success’. She will be kept at the hospital for a further two though, in order to monitor her recovery.

The family have said they will inform the media of any further developments, but were already feeling very positive with the treatment she received. Her spokesperson Victor Dlamini said:

“I visited her at the hospital this afternoon and she was in high spirits. She said her health problems go back to her time when she was banished to Brandtfort and her knee first started giving her trouble.”

Dlamini even stated that Winnie Mandela is already planning her next move when she’s free to leave Milpark: He stated that she’s ‘looking forward to the ANC conference’, which begins in December and will chose the party’s replacement for Jacob Zuma.

The Brandfort statement refers to her time in exile whilst in Free State. She was subject to solitary confinement back in 1969 for her anti-apartheid activity, and the rough treatment seems to have taken its toll on our Winnie
