NPA reveals the details behind a 2019 case against Dlamini

NPA Gauteng spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane shared that Dlamini had absconded back in 2019. Dlamini absconded from a common assault case.

“Ntlantla Mohlauhi, also known as Nhlanhla Lux Dlamini, appeared at the Meadowlands Magistrate’s Court for an assault (common) case he absconded back in September 2019.”

Mjonondwane revealed that a tenant who was renting from Dlamini’s mother’s house laid a complaint against him. The complaint was lodged at the Meadowlands South African Police Service (SAPS) in September 2019.

Dlamini attended his first court appearance, but not the second

Dlamini made his first court appearance on 9 September 2019. He was released on warning and the case was postponed to 30 September 2019, according to Mjonondwane. She shared that Dlamini did not return on 30 September and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The NPA spokesperson explained that the Meadowlands Magistrate’s Court held an inquiry into Dlamini’s failure to attend court. He was then found guilty and sentenced to caution and discharge, she shared.

Mjonondwane stated that the court dealt with the criminal case of common assault. Dlamini was then granted R1,000 bail. The case against Dlamini was postponed to 3 May for further investigations.

In March, Dlamini was released on R1,500 bail at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court. A number of Dlamini’s supporters were outside the court, reports IOL. They also made their way to the Johannesburg central SAPS where Dlamini was detained.

Nhlanhla Lux ‘could be jailed for 90 days’ – if he ignores THESE court orders

Operation Dudula Leader Nhlanhla Lux has been told he could face the possibility of three months in jail, if he fails to comply with court orders set down on Wednesday morning.

The controversial figure, who has shot to prominence as the head of the anti-illegal immigration group, was detained by police for raiding a suspected drug dealer’s house in Soweto last month.

Following a brief appearance in court, Nhlanhla Lux was issued with a ‘caution and discharge’ sentence – which essentially means the legal investigation into this particular incident is done with. However, there could still be a sting in the tail. Read the full story here.
