An almighty scandal has rocked the African Democratic Change (ADEC) party in Durban, after one of their hopefuls for the 2021 Local Elections was suspended for his alleged involvement in child sex conspiracy. It’s understood that a WhatsApp voicenote, featuring lurid details of the plan, has alerted SAPS.
Wayne Solomon, who was set to compete in the eThekwini Ward 68 vote, has been suspended by ADEC – pending the conclusion of a police investigation. The politician has, however, maintained his innocence.
On the WhatsApp voicenote, Solomon could be heard discussing a plot to rape a child – aged either six, nine, or 16 – with another woman. He uses reprehensible language, when assessing how the pair could ensure that a victim would not report the incident to the police. One of his plans included getting children high before committing any assaults.
As Solomon put it, they could threaten to tell parents their children had ‘smoked dagga’ if the kids reported any form of sexual assault. However, the prospective ward councillor says there has been a big misunderstanding and explained that was the one on the right side of the law. Solomon, apparently, wanted to entrap a woman, believing SHE was an abuser.
The whole thing is a real mess, and detectives now have to establish which party is telling the truth. The fallout from this case is set to have an adverse impact on ADEC at the polls, and some of the grotesque acts discussed between Solomon and the other implicated adult were truly sickening.
But Solomon is steadfast in his self-defence, and has opened a defamation of character case against the accusations levelled against him. Party leader Visvin Reddy, meanwhile, says ADEC take these allegations ‘very seriously’.
Police in KZN have confirmed that they are investigating allegations of conspiracy to commit the rape of a minor. The matter is believed to be linked to a candidate in eThekwini from the African Democratic Change party – for the local elections.— SAfm news (@SAfmnews) October 5, 2021
