Whatsapp will be rolling out some new features which users can look forward to soon, including for its desktop version, WABetaInfo reported.

WHAT’S NEW WITH WHATSAPP?

According to the messaging application’s official blog, one of the features is called Communities and is an expansion of Groups. With WhatsApp Communities, group admins would not only have more control over group chats, they’d also be able to send messages in this group chat and to group some groups related to the community. This feature is still in the development phase, which means it isn’t available for beta users yet.

Recording voice notes on Whatsapp might get better with this new feature: Users would be able to start a voice note and then exit a chat, view and reply to messages in other conversations in the app while it plays in the background. That’s not all – Whatsapp is currently working on a feature that will allow people to pause voice notes they are recording.

“The team is working on a lot of new features and finally, WhatsApp is getting several improvements, in particular for voice messages. The latest news reports that WhatsApp is working on the possibility to pause voice messages while recording them, for a future update. This feature is very useful because it won’t force you to stop and record a new one,” WABetaInfo says.

Whatsapp is reportedly rolling out another feature that allows users to link their account to secondary devices and continue to send and receive messages without the primary smartphone being online. Previously, the primary device had to be connected to the internet for the user to continue using interacting on the application (Whatsapp Wed on your browser)
