What the Bela-Bela SuperSpar did after it burnt down is amazing

All the feels.

Oh em gee, guys. It’s about to get real dusty where you’re reading this. In September this year, Bela Bela SuperSpar burnt to the ground.

According to GoodThingsGuy, that meant almost 150 people were out of work. Many employees had been with the store for years.

But instead of giving up, the owner did something incredible. He decided to give back – and keep his employees in their jobs.

A post on Facebook reads:

On 23 September 2017 Bela Bela Superspar burnt down. We started the “I AM SPAR” project which aims to serve the community during the rebuild process. Since then staff members have done more than 30 000 man hours of community service.

From painting schools, to building churches from the ground up, planting veggie gardens and refurbishing hospitals… the team have done incredible work.

The Spar now regularly posts updates of the amazing work it is doing on its Facebook Page. And we suggest you head over there and follow it because ALL OF THE FEELS.

Here are a selection of some of the awesome things they’ve done.

Thusanang School is a school for children with special needs. This week was their graduation week, Team Front End was there to help with the washing and ironing, of all school uniforms so that pupils could look their best, on this special day. Check out the other pictures here.

Albert Lithuli School are getting their windows washed by Team Take Away. They also cleaned the classrooms. Full post here.

Team Take Away did duty at Klein Juweeltjies Crèche. Check it out here.

Before and after photos of the library of Mmampathile Public Primary. Thanks to Team Fish&Chips for all the filing and cleaning. Check it out here.

You get the idea, right? The Facebook page is a complete and total inspiration. And we hope that the Bela Bela SuperSpar inspires you to do some good – not just this festive season, but all through the year, whenever you can.
