It’s payday for millions of SASSA grant beneficiaries on Thursday. Although there’s still no replacement for the R350 support fund yet, all of the permanent state handouts still remain in place. Here’s what you need to know about the payment dates for June 2021, and when you can expect the next set of funds to be made available
The older person’s grant is the only SASSA fund that can be accessed on Thursday 3 June. However, for elderly citizens receiving more than one social grant, they will have ALL scheduled payments arrive in their accounts today.
Fear not, those of you waiting for your disability grants: You only have another day to wait. These funds will be made available on Friday 4 June, and yes, any other due monies will be paid on the same day.
Anytime a weekend comes in between the SASSA payment schedule, at least one grant will be later than the others. That’s the case here, and those wanting to access their children’s allowance grant have to wait until Monday 7 June. Any other SASSA grant not specified so far will only be withdrawable from Monday onwards, too…
Nope. Once the payments are actioned, they remain in your account until you need to access them. There’s no rush.
June is the second month that SRD payments have been out of action. Last week, Lindiwe Zulu indicated a shift to a Basic Income Grant was ‘imminent’ – but the government is still trying to fund such a large, permanent project.
There is a 33-day gap between payments being made today, and the first day of July’s handouts. Here’s the schedule:
