Western Cape Premier Alan Winde announces new Cabinet
A refresh to the Western Cape’s league of MECs.

Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde, on Thursday, unveiled his new league of MECs after members of the ruling party in the province were sworn in at the legislature.
The DA’s 55.45% victory at the Western Cape polls secured 24 of the 42 seats for the DA.

Alan Winde gets straight to business
Therefore, it was only a matter of formality to have Winde challenged by the ANC’s Cameron Dugmore for the position of Premier.
It was expected that Ebrahim Rasool would challenge for the Premeir position, since he was at the forefront of the ANC’s campaign efforts in the province.
However, Rasool stated that he has tendered his resignation from provincial legislature.

Alas, as reported by EWN, the first order of business was for the new Premier to select his provincial Cabinet. This is the complete list of MECs that will work with Alan Winde to resume with the province’s transformation project.

Donald Grant was, surprisingly, not mentioned in the list of MECs. However, after serving in the Transport and Public Works portfolio in the previous administration, Winde announced that Grant would serve as the special advisor to the Premier.
