Gang violence: 9 people shot in the last 24 hours
The residents of Westbury are living in fear as nine people were shot and one killed in the last 24 hours.

The community of Westbury in Johannesburg lives in fear as nine people have been shot and one killed in alleged gang violence.
ONE PERSON SHOT DEAD IN WESTBURY
This latest spate of violence comes fresh on the murder of the alleged “notorious Fast Guns leader” Keenan Sheldon Ebrahim last week, Thursday, 23 February 2023.

Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo says the police are investigating a case of murder 38-year-old Ebrahim was gunned down while driving along William Nicole Road in Florida.

Since news broke of the murder of the “notorious gang leader,” various voice notes warn residents in three predominantly coloured areas to remain indoors.
WESTBURY COMMUNITY LIVES IN FEAR
Westbury community members fear they may be killed in the crossfire as nine people have been shot and one died in the past 24 hours, as reported by eNCA.

The police must still confirm some incidents but this morning, 27 February 2023.
THE 18-YEAR-OLD IS THE LATEST VICTIM
An 18-year-old victim had been shot this morning and was rushed to the hospital.
Four of the recently shot people are from one family, and all survived.

One person was shot and killed on Sunday afternoon, 26 February 2023, and two others were injured.
A woman told ENCA their lives are in danger, and they fear for their children. They say they are scared for the children to go to school or even to the shop.
THE COMMUNITY CALLS ON THE GOVERNMENT TO DEPLOY THE ARMY

She pleaded with the police to bring at least three vans and spread them to help them feel safe.
The community also asked the government to send an army to protect them.
