North West MEC for Education Viola Motsumi condemned school disruption in the strongest terms.

Motsumi said she needed help understanding how adults can go to a school and prevent learners from receiving education.

“Learners are the future of this country, and they should be given a chance to get an education. The Constitution of this country emphasises that every child has a right to education. Clearly, those behind this disruption are violating the right to education,” she said.

Motsumi also urged law enforcement agencies to take action against perpetrators and that the law should take its course against those who violated the Constitution.
