Warnings: 

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places in Gauteng, the North West province and the Free State.

A Gale force westerly to south-westerly wind of 65-75km/h is expected along the coast between Cape Agulhas and Port St. Johns.

High seas with wave heights from 6 to 7m are expected between Cape Point and Cannon Rocks.

Watches: 

Severe thunderstorms are expected in places in the interior of KwaZulu-Natal.

A Gale force westerly to south-westerly wind of 65-70km/h is expected along the coast between Port St. Johns and Richards Bay from the afternoon.

Weather forecast and UV index for all provinces

Gauteng: Fine and hot, becoming partly cloudy from afternoon with isolated evening thundershowers.

UVB sunburn index: High.

Mpumalanga: Fine and warm to hot but very hot in the Lowveld areas. It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated thundershowers, except in the Lowveld areas.

Limpopo: Fine and very hot becoming partly cloudy in the south by late afternoon.

North-West Province: Fine and hot, becoming partly cloudy.

Free State: Partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated thundershowers in the north-east.

Northern Cape: Cloudy with light rain in the south-west at first, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but cold in the south. It will be warm in the north and north-east. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly.

Western Cape: Cloudy and cool to cold with light showers in the west and south-west at first extending along the south coast and adjacent interior by late morning. It will become partly cloudy from the west by afternoon. The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly but strong along the south coast becoming moderate to fresh by afternoon.

UVB index: Moderate.

Western half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool in the south with isolated showers, otherwise partly cloudy and warm. The wind along the coast will be strong to gale force westerly, moderating
to fresh in the evening.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers in the north-east and east but scattered in the extreme east. The wind along the coast will be strong to gale force south-westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal: Fine and hot but warm along the coastal areas, becoming partly cloudy from the west by mid-morning. It will become cloudy in the afternoon with scattered showers and thundershowers. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-easterly, becoming strong to near-gale south-westerly from the south in the afternoon.
