Warnings: 

Heavy rain leading to flooding is expected over the south-eastern parts of Mpumalanga, and also along the coast and northern parts of Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Watches: 

Severe thunderstorms are expected over Gauteng, the Highveld areas of Mpumalanga as well as the southern parts of the Limpopo province.

Weather forecast and UV index for all provinces

Gauteng: Partly cloudy and cool to warm with scattered showers and thundershowers at times.

UVB sunburn index: Moderate.

Mpumalanga: Cloudy in the east with morning fog patches over the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with widespread to scattered showers and thundershowers. It will be cold in places on the eastern Highveld.

Limpopo: Cloudy in the east with morning fog patches over the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south.

North-West Province: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the south west. Scattered thundershowers is possible in the extreme east.

Free State: Cool in the extreme north-east, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated thundershowers in the north and north-east but scattered in the extreme north-east.

Northern Cape: Fine and cool but warm in places over the interior. The wind along the coast will be strong southerly.

Western Cape: Warm over the West Coast District, otherwise fine and cool but partly cloudy along the south coast. The wind along the coast will be strong southerly to south-easterly but moderate westerly in the south becoming southerly.

UVB index: Extreme.

Western half of the Eastern Cape: Fine and cool but partly cloudy along the coast. The wind along the coast will be light north-westerly becoming moderate to fresh south-westerly late morning.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers south of the escarpment but partly cloudy in the north and south-west. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-easterly but moderate westerly in the south becoming fresh to strong south-westerly late morning.

KwaZulu-Natal: Cloudy and cold but very cold over the south-western high ground with widespread showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south-west. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

UVB index: Low.
