IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

1.A yellow level 2 warning for damaging waves and winds leading to localised damage to coastal infrastructure and difficulty in navigation at sea is expected between Saldanha Bay and East London.

FIRE DANGER WARNINGS:

ADVISORIES:

1. Very cold, windy and wet conditions are expected in places over the of the Eastern Cape, Karoo Hoogland and Hantam Municipalities (Northern Cape) as well as over the interior of the Western Cape tomorrow (14-08-2022). Snowfall is aslo possible over the high-lying areas of the Cape Provinces. The public and small stock farmers are advised to take necessary precautions.

Gauteng:

Temperature: Fine and cool.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Fine and cool to warm but hot in the Lowveld.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Fine and warm, but hot over the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Fine and cool, but cold in the west and south.

Free State:

Temperature: Fine and cold, but partly cloudy in the southern parts

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy and cold, but very cold over the southern parts with isolated showers and rain in the west. Light snow is expected over the south-western high-lying areas.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southeasterly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Partly cloudy in the west, otherwise cloudy and very cold to cold with isolated showers and rain, but scattered along the south coast. Light snow is expected over the high-lying areas in the west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southwest becoming south-easterly along the west coast by the afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half –Cloudy and cold with isolated showers and rain, but scattered along the coast. Light snowfall can be expected in high-lying areas.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be strong to gale south-westerly.

The Eastern half -Partly cloudy and very cold to cold with isolated showers and rain in places south of escapement at first, but scattered in places in the south-west.

The Eastern half -The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly, becoming strong to gale in the afternoon.

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool but warm in the north. Isolated showers and rain are expected, except in the north.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong southerly to south-westerly from the south by mid morning, spreading to the north by afternoon.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Moderate.
