SAWS said two weather systems will ‘result in an influx of moisture from the tropical regions’ and issued a Yellow Level 4 warning.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for disruptive rainfall in Gauteng on Monday, 7 November. The warning key indicates that such a warning means there is a low likelihood of significant weather impacts.
The warning is valid from 15:00 on Monday until 12:00 on Tuesday, 8 November. The weather service said a steep upper air trough over the western interior of South Africa along with a surface trough over the central parts will result in an influx of moisture from the tropical regions.
“Scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers are expected over the central and eastern parts,” said the weather service.
The municipalities expected to be affected by the disruptive rainfall include the City of Tswane, West Rand, the City of Johannesburg, Ekurhulen and Sedibeng.
