Disruptive rain is expected on Saturday in parts of South Africa.
According to SA Weather Service (SAWS), a level 2 warning has been issued for several areas in Limpopo.
The rain is expected to continue until Saturday evening around 20:00.
The affected areas include:
“Localized flooding of susceptible informal settlements and low-lying roads and bridges is possible, especially in flood-prone areas. Major roads will be affected but can be used with increased travel times,” the SAWS said.
It furthermore warned residents to stay indoors.
“If possible, stay indoors and off the roads, avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams where water is above your ankles.”
The SAWS furthermore warned of the difficult driving conditions that can be expected as well as minor motor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads and reduced visibility.
All road users are requested to take extra caution:
Households were urged to open/make pathways to allow water to flow out of their yards.
