The internal ANC witch hunt against Dr Makhosi Khoza seems to be intensifying. Khoza once again took to Facebook on Monday morning to provide an update on her struggle with “refusing to allow the ANC of Nelson Mandela, Lillian Ngoyi, Ahmed Kathrada be synonymous with corruption.”

Less than a week after taking to Facebook to slate Police Minister Mbalula for “publicly lying” and failing to deal with her death threats, the ANC MP has returned with another post taking on various elements of the ANC.

“They threatened to kill me. I exposed them. They tried everything to silence me. They failed. They accuse me of having political allegiance elsewhere because I hate corruption because of its devastating effects on the poor. I refuse to allow the ANC of Nelson Mandela, Lillian Ngoyi, Ahmed Kathrada be synonymous with corruption.

I believe in the government of the people where ANC leaders collectively decide who is deployed or removed. In this case kleptocracy is evident. The 3 of the top 6 ANC national leadership disowned the decision of the President.”

Khoza goes on to call corruption the number one enemy of Africa’s development and prosperity for all. “I’ll fight it with all my strength.”

While the ANC MP may have lashed out at certain members and problems in her party, she insists that the ANC is her “political heritage”. And, that it is her love for the organisation that means she cannot see it “defaced on her watch”.

“I’m not supporting the opposition. I remain a loyal and informed member of the ANC. I’m supporting the people who marched on the 7 April 2017. I’m supporting South Africans. South Africans are my motive forces not counter revolutionaries.”

She also reveals what many South Africans had worried was coming, she is reportedly set to be charged by the KZN ANC. Khoza went on to poke holes in that branch of the ANC as she referred to the accusations of rigging elections.

“Tomorrow I understand I’ll be charged by the ANC KZN that has to appear in court because it is accused of having rigged elections. They’ll charge me because I refuse to die in silence.

The unknown legal status ANC KZN is not just charging Makhosi Khoza, it is intimidating the ANC MPs who are like me sick and tired of defending wrongdoing. This is about ensuring specific outcomes on the 8 August 2017.”

While Khoza says numerous intriguing things in the post, the most worrisome is her last paragraph where she addresses dictatorships. It really is powerful stuff, let’s hope this true leader keeps the little power she has.

“We are officially in a dictatorship when ethical voices are suppressed. We are officially in a dictatorship when choosing the people over amoral leadership is treasonous. When the supreme law of the land is trampled. We are officially in a dictatorship when the judiciary is under attack, when journalists are threatened. When political leaders are killed and intimidated to do wrong things.”
