Eight-hour planned water outage for Cullinan and Ga-Rankuwa

The City of Tshwane has urged residents to use water sparingly during the planned 8-hour water outage for Cullinan and Ga-Rankuwa.

Various parts of Cullinan and Ga-Rankuwa will be without water on Tuesday, 29 March 2022 due to maintenance. 

This will be from 09:00 until 13:00. 

WATER OUTAGE IN CULLINAN AND GA-RANKUWA

The City of Tshwane said during the period, its technicians will be installing a 200mm bulk metre at the Cullinan Tower. 

These are the areas that will be affected:

Cullinan

Elandsfontein 480-JR

Kafferskraal 457-JR

Lewzene Estate AH

Louwsbaken 476 – JR

On the same day the technicians will also install a bulk metre at the Ga-Rankuwa East Reservoir outlet. Water supply will be affected for 8 hours from 09:00 until 17:00.

These are the units that will be affected in Ga-Rankuwa:

Ga-Rankuwa (all units)

Medunsa 237-JR

Sjambok Zijn Oude Kraal 258-JR

Residents have been urged to use water sparingly. 

“All the City’s relevant reservoirs will be filled to capacity prior to the shutdown and tankers will be on standby for alternative water supply to all the affected areas. 

The City of Tshwane apologises for the inconvenience that may be caused by these planned interruptions of water supply.”

This week the City of Tshwane also joined hands with the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to mark National Water Week and commemorate World Water Day.

World Water Day is observed annually on 22 March. This year’s theme was: Groundwater – Making the invisible visible.
