eThekwini Municipality has advised residents affected by water outages that it has been brought to its attention, that water tankers are not consistently available in certain areas.

eThekwini Municipality said in a statement on Wednesday that as a result of the problem with residents accessing water via the tankers, the municipality was now “moving with speed” to ensure that all residents have adequate access to clean water.

“In the meanwhile, the repairing of the pipe is progressing very well as shoring has been completed. Technicians are on site busy with the actual repair work.  Teams will be working through out the night to ensure that at least by tomorrow some areas start to receive water,” eThekwini Municipality said.

“The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused and request that the public remain patient during this period.  The public is urged to constantly alert the city in the event of shortcomings in its temporal water relief measures,” the municipality said.

According to eThekwini Municipality the following areas across the city have been affected by the latest water outages:

• Parts of Shallcross

• Klaarwater

• St Wendolins
