Watch: Uber CEO gets in argument with driver over cheap fares [video]

South Africans have taken to Uber, there are countless drivers and people love the convenience and affordability of it all. However, there have been a lot of controversies that have surfaced both in SA and the rest of the world.

Local taxi drivers have previously protested over Uber drivers not having to have certain permits. Additionally taxi drivers have claimed that Uber’s cheap fares has put them out of business, even Uber drivers have expressed their complaints that the corporation takes most of their money. In January over 200 000 people uninstalled the Uber app, after the corporation were accused of trying to take advantage of an anti-Trump protest.

A few weeks back Uber CEO Travis Kalanick was taking an Uber with two female friends, as the trip was coming to an end the Uber driver had some things to say. The driver accused the CEO of losing him tens of thousands of dollars. Kalanick ended up getting in a shouting match with the driver before slamming the door as he exited the car.
