WATCH: Two mice spotted eating cold meats in Pick and Pay – YUCK!

Two MICE were recently spotted eating cold meats in the cold meat section in the Pick and Pay inside the Promenade shopping centre, Cape Town.

WATCH AS THE MICE FEAST ON COLD MEATS IN THE FRIDGE

The shopper, Imdaad Harris, is a regular shopper at this store.

The incident happened on Monday at around midday.

Harris told Netwerk24 he wanted to go and get salami and was standing at the cold meat section to order when his eye caught ‘n movement inside the fridge.

‘ONE MOUSE STARTED EATING THE COLD MEATS NONCHALANTLY’

“I saw two mice. One ran away, while the other was stubborn and started eating the cold meats nonchalantly.”

He said he immediately gave back the salami and informed the staff members of the mice.

“I was still in the store for another while as I had other items such as stationery to buy. When I returned to the cold meat section, all the meat and products had been removed from the fridge.”

The video of the mice went viral after Harris uploaded it to TikTok on Monday. It has since been watched more than 403 000 times.

Pick and Pay reportedly confirmed the incident to Netwerk24 and said they immediately removed all the products in the
immediate environment.

“A deep clean was done as we follow strict health and safety rules, which include regular pest control.”

HERE IS WHAT THE PUBLIC HAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS:

Several TikTok users commented on the video, with some saying this is not the first time mice had been spotted in the store.

“PNP promenade have always had mice problems. u see them running around any time of day.”

Another TikTok user said this is truly the year of the animal takeover:

“Seals, aardvark, tigers & now mice shopping cold meats… 2023 is the year of animals taking over 😂😂😂 Ek willie wiet wat gebuer (sic) February nie 😅”
