By now, we all should know that the Vaal Dam is siting at 100% capacity. The sluice gates have been opened and Gauteng water restrictions are expected to be lifted soon. But what does 100% look like? Especially when you compare it to the 26% it was in October?
The good people at Dirk Grobler Aerial Photography got their drone out and captured some 4k footage of the dam since it’s reached capacity. They then contrast and compare the differences to how the dam looked with much lower levels. It really is a fascinating site to see just how much the dam and it’s surrounds has changed over the last few months. It also highlights how serious the drought in Gauteng was. Check it out below.
