So how did he do it?

Nqoro, who hails from King Williams Town, said the journey towards his legal qualification has been a very wonderful one. He confirmed that he juggled his day job while studying part-time.

“My journey was inspired by me, after choosing the first step to study,” he said via Dispatch Africa.

“I had to find a way to provide for my family and my own needs. “I just had the courage to say ‘let me start.”’

As with any leaps of faith, Nqoro admitted he was not entirely sure how everything would pan out but as a Christian man, he trusted God to provide him with strength.

SUPPORT FROM SHELL CO-WORKERS

The petrol attendant with a Law degree revealed that the success could have been compromised if he did not earn support from his colleagues and boss from day one to the last.

Nqoro concluded the chat by sharing a word of advice and encouragement to anyone who may have been thinking of achieving academic dreams.

“To everyone else listening out there, I would like to say that if they don’t start today, they can just kiss and say goodbye to their own dreams,” he added.

“I have been dreaming about this from High School level. When I started working here I felt that I would never be able to forgive myself if I don’t start.

“I was helped by hard work, dedication, and believing that I can do it are the things that have been ‘petroling me up.’”

According to the University of Fort Hare’s Mandela School of Law faculty, the LLB extended degree is obtained through a five-year study period.
