A man was caught on camera stealing a traffic sign in broad daylight. The video has gone viral on social media.

WATCH AS THE MAN STEALS A TRAFFIC SIGN

In the video, you can see a man standing at a traffic sign – a Give way to all traffic sign. He looks at the vehicles driving past him before he stands closer to the sign.

The man is then seen removing the sign within minutes and walking away swiftly with his sign. It is not yet clear where this incident took place or when.

ANOTHER INCIDENT CAUGHT ON CAMERA

It is unclear when and where the incident happened, but it is suspected of being in Johannesburg

In the video, three men can be seen wandering about the traffic light. 

One has an axe and is trying to dismantle the traffic light.

After successfully dismantling it, he leaves the light on what looks like the pavement. All three then walk off with the cables.

Last month a video of a man who allegedly stole a traffic light and dragged it down the road went viral on social media.

This bizarre event was captured somewhere in Sandton.

While it was unclear what the man intended to do with the traffic light, some social media users assumed that it might be sold for scrap.

Vandalism describes conduct that defaces or damages public or private property.

CAN THE MAN BE ARRESTED?

The maximum penalty that may be imposed on a conviction of this offence is a fine or imprisonment for a period of three years in the case of first offenders.
