EFF Commander-In-Chief Julius Malema stated on Friday morning that he can prove that Malusi Gigaba is involved in state capture. Malema and other EFF leaders travelled to Joburg Central Police Station to lay charges against Gigaba for his involvement in corruption at Transnet.

Malema was interviewed on Radio 702 when he was asked for more details about his allegations against Gigaba. The EFF leader went on record to state that his party can prove beyond reasonable doubt that Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba is involved in the Transnet locomotives scandal.

Last week’s Gupta email leak revealed that associates of the family pocketed billions of rands in “kickbacks” to help a Chinese firm win extremely profitable Transnet tenders. CSR Hong Kong won the tender to supply 359 locomotives to Transnet in 2014, at the time Gigaba was Minister of Public Enterprises.

“We’re attaching that letter to demonstrate to South Africans that Malusi Gigaba was involved in the procurement of the locomotives and that’s why he kept on reminding people to flout the rules and not even talk to Treasury, including undermining Treasury and talking to him directly if they wanted to continue with any other procurement.”

Outside the police station, Malema said that the EFF will write to the Canadian, Chinese and American governments as their companies are involved in the corruption. He says that once the USA are involved, Gigaba must be warned because the FBI will investigate.

Even though he had just pressed charges with SAPS, Malema said that the Police do nothing against Zuma because “they too are captured and report to the Guptas.”

On Thusday the EFF also issued an ultimatium to the DA, Malema called on the party to remove Helen Zille as premier or lose the EFF’s voting support in metros.
