Over the last few weeks, Parliament has played host to the Mid-term budget speech, a Q&A with the Deputy President and a host of SCOPA meetings. All of these led to their own kinds of chaos, today it’s time for #ZumaQandA.

With even more going on in South Africa than usual, Zuma will have to jump and dodge more than even he is used to. Going from the list of questions, the EFF is expected to boycott the QandA as they refuse to be “addressed by a criminal”.

What time is Zuma’s Q&A in parliament?

Proceedings begin at 14:00 and you can watch along via the live stream below(Will be active once the stream begins.)

Where can I watch Zuma’s Q&A?

Right here…

On Tuesday, Zuma sent even more shockwaves through the country as he and his legal team offered to set up a commision of inquiry into state capture.

“Having announced an intention to appoint a commission of inquiry, it is recorded that the president will proclaim a commission of inquiry within thirty days of the date of this order,” reads a draft order Zuma’s advocates presented to the high court in Pretoria.

While Zuma’s lawyer said such an order would be “just and equitable”, there are already concerns over the potential nature of the inquiry/commission.  This would leave the door open for Zuma to appoint the judge himself and make the inquiry as narrow or as broad as he chooses.

Zuma is currently in court as he seeks to prove he is not obligated to set up a commission of inquiry. Today’s revelation is not the first from Zuma’s legal team, last week the President abandoned a proposal that called for state capture be referred back to current Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane.

Opposition parties were then allowed to file additional arguments in writing. Zuma went on to say that the opposition arguments “warranted no response”.

Zuma has also called for part of Madonsela’s State of Capture report to be set aside. While the president’s support may be decreasing in the ANC, his supports have called for him to include state capture under apartheid in any inquiry. An inquiry of that nature would take several years.
