President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the public on Wednesday afternoon when he delivers an interactive briefing through various forms of media. Not only will the broadcast take place on television and radio, but there will also be a live stream of the event, which features at the bottom of the article.

What time will Cyril Ramaphosa be live on TV this Wednesday?

Citizens will be encouraged to ask the president about their coronavirus concerns. With hot-button issues such as our current stage of lockdown, localised infection spikes, and the cigarette ban, Ramaphosa will certainly have a lot to discuss with the public. He’s expected to begin the session at 18:00 SAST

Members of the public can submit their questions to President Ramaphosa through the Community Radio toll-free line, on 0800 142 446. Alternatively, they can Tweet their questions, using the hashtag; #PresidentialImbizo. The presidency has issued a statement, explaining how the broadcast will work.

“President Cyril Ramaphosa will today, 1 July 2020, interact with communities across the nation through a virtual Presidential Imbizo on Coronavirus.”   

“The Presidential Imbizo is a public-participation platform where communities are able to interact directly with government on challenges in society and where citizens are able to engage on community-generated solutions to such challenges.”

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Presidential Imbizo will take the form of a virtual engagement in which communities are invited to participate through more than 80 community radio stations, TV channels and social media.”
