Residents recently caught the two cable thieves red-handed in a ditch and unleased fury onto them.

WATCH AS RESIDENTS UNLEASHED FURY ON THE THIEVES

Several residents are seen in the video confronting the two cable thieves before they start beating them with a sambok and knob kierie.

And this was all caught on camera.

According to reports on social media, the incident happened in Cape Town.

IT IS NOT YET CONFIRMED WHERE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED

It is not yet known what happened to the two men after the video stop, but social media posts indicated that the residents had a chainsaw with them.

Earlier this month a video of a naked cable thief who was allegedly trying to steal cables has gone viral.

It is believed the video was taken in Carletonville, Gauteng, on Friday.

In the video, the unknown man, who clearly sustained serious burn wounds, climbs down the ladder.

PARAMEDICS CAN BE HEARD WARNING HIM TO NOT RUN AWAY

When he finally gets to the ground, paramedics can be heard warning him not to run away but to walk toward them so they can help him. Whatever he was wearing before trying to steal the copper cables has been burnt off.

The man cautiously walked to the paramedics who took care of him.

The video was shared on Facebook and Twitter, and it is clear that South Africans are fed up with not only load shedding but also cable thieves.

Gauteng Eskom said it had noted a “concerning increase” in the theft and vandalism of electricity equipment in the province. The Senior Manager for Operations and Maintenance in Gauteng, Mashangu Xivambu, said the community’s assistance is needed to put a stop to electricity theft.

“We would like to appeal to the public to partner with us in reducing electricity-related criminal activities by reporting illegal connections, theft and vandalism of electricity infrastructure to the Eskom crime line on 0800 112 722.”
