MAMA JOY STARTED SUPPORTING PIRATES IN HER TEENS

Mama Joy, who’s real name is Joy Chauke, had been supporting Pirates for 30 years before announcing that she was now ending her affiliation and affinity with the club. She then quickly confirmed that she will now be a supporter of new DStv Premiership outfit Royal AM.

“South Africans, I’m here today to tell you that I’m leaving Orlando Pirates, hard as it is, I’m going to Royal AM. “From today, no Buccaneers but her majesty, I’m royal.” she told Newzroom Afrika.

Mama Joy GIVES REASONS FOR THE SWITCH

“I decided to join Royal AM for me to support MaMkhize, you know MaMkhize? You remember last time she was in GladAfrica and she wanted to come to PSL, in the last minute  they say no Sekhukhune has qualified and you’re going to play in the playoffs. She managed to buy Bloemfontein Celtic’s status. “I was surprised to see a women so passionate and I realised how much she really wanted to be in the PSL and now, she is in the PSL.” Mama Joy concluded

“Everybody is talking about Mama Joy. They will talk and they will be quiet, but oksalayo [the fact is] I am a Royal AM supporter, “They can talk, they can do what they want because when I took my decision they were not there. But if it’s a change it’s a change. There’s nothing you can do.Today I went to Bara Mall and came across a lot of supporters. Some were saying, ‘Hey Majestic’, some were saying, ‘Hey sell-out’ “It’s friendly. I’m a friendly person and I talk to everybody. It’s also football banter.”  Said Mama Joy to TimesLIVE
