WATCH: Five times where a pitbull SAVED its family

While pit bulls have been classified as a ‘dangerous breed’, there is no denying their instinct to protect their owners from danger.

Here are five videos or stories where a pitbull saved or defended its home, family and loved ones.

Earlier this year, a little puppy was sniffing around by his family’s pool when he slipped and fell into the water. 

In the video, you can see the little puppy trying its best to make his way out of the pool, but it soon becomes clear that he couldn’t get out on his own. He was at risk of drowning.

And then, just as you think you can’t watch anymore because the puppy is drowning, a pitbull is seen running towards the pool.

THE PITBULL IS SEEN SAVING THE LITTLE PUPPY FROM THE POOL

The pitbull falls into the pool while trying to save the puppy and eventually grabs the little one by the neck before lifting him out of the pool.

Two months ago a brave pit bull saved the day after it stopped a trio of thieves in an attempt to break into a SA home. A video showing the heroic and hilarious video was posted on TikTok.

In another incident this year, CCTV footage came to light of an attempted house robbery in Newlands West, KZN.

Five or so men were seen jumping over the fence to rob the house, but in came a Pitbull to scare them away. 

In the 17-second video, the hero dog is seen immediately reacting to the intruders by making its way toward the wall.

MOLLY WAS STABBED COUNTLESS TIMES IN HER HEAD AND BODY

Last year, The South African reported on Molly, a female Pitbull.

It took Molly mere seconds to realise that her family’s life was in grave danger, and she unhesitatingly flew into action to protect them from the armed assailants during a home invasion earlier this month.

Molly has been hailed a Hero by a family of Rocklands who survived a horrific home invasion thanks to her protective instincts.

Animal Welfare Society of SA (AWS) sadly announced on Friday that Molly had unfortunately died.

“We tried our best to save Molly, but sadly, she had lost too much blood, and her injuries were too severe.”

It said despite being beaten and stabbed countless times in her head and body Molly put up a very brave fight during the home invasion, and the assailant quickly realised that he had more than met his match and decided to beat a hasty retreat leaving Molly dying in a pool of blood on the floor.

A GROUP OF ROBBERS TARGETED THE WRONG HOUSE

In August this year group of robbers targeted the wrong house and got a frightful welcome from the guard dog.

In the video, you see five men hopping over the boundary wall of a home, but as soon as the first man’s feet hit the floor, the pitbull rushes them.

One of the men managed to make it past the dog, but then the dog homed in on him and sent him sprinting for safety.

Lastly, a man was a victim of an attempted armed robbery. The robber demanded money from the man who had just won a scratch-off lottery ticket.

Before he could respond, the man fired his gun. He fell to the ground as the bullet grazed him.

A hero came to the rescue, the man’s 12-year-old pitbull, Skyler.

“The bullet grazed me, and that’s when my dog came into action,” he said. “He charged after the dude with the gun and that guy shot the dog four times, they found four different shots in him.”
