Aries is an adorable feline with a unique backstory. The cute kitty was born with malformed joints in a rural shelter to a three-legged mother!

Spider-like kitty continues to live his best life

It is believed that Aries’ condition is the result of an inherited congenital condition from his mother. The rescue cat’s legs are bent all the way to his tiny little belly but that doesn’t stop him from living his absolute best life.

Aries was taken in by avid foster mom Tracy and eventually adopted. The playful little one’s legs continued to be unstable as he grew but his disability does not bother him in the slightest.

After finding a forever home, Aries was seemingly self-motivated to gain strength in his hind legs. He loves to go on walks outside and even jumps into his carrier bag – on his own – when it’s time to go home.

Aries’ energy can be felt through every video and image shared of him. He’s a loveable little guy who gets along with his adopted siblings. His name is another form of Ares. Ares is the God of war in ancient Greek mythology – pretty apt that this little fighter was named after that, right?

Cats tend to have some unusual traits – making Aries all the more rare

Cats are truly unique creatures with aspects that some may find peculiar. In total, most cats have 18 toes! Five toes on each of their front paws and four on each of their hind paws.

Just when you thought the furry feline couldn’t get cooler it’s understood that house cats share up to 95.6% of their genetic makeup with tigers. The felines also really enjoy their nap time. In fact, cats usually sleep around an average of 15 hours every day.

Meet Jean-Claude: The two-headed snake at uShaka Marine World

In other news about uniquely wonderful creatures, it was previously reported that the two-headed southern brown egg-eating snake that was rescued by Nick Evans has found a new home. The 30cm serpent, named Jean-Claude, is now on display at the Dangerous Creatures Exhibit at uShaka Marine World in Durban.

Taking to Facebook, the South African Association for Marine Biological Research (SAAMBR) said Jean-Claude was given the name by herpetologists (scientists who study amphibians and reptiles).

Going into detail about the two-headed snake, SAAMBR said the phenomenon is known as bicephaly or dicephaly. It tends to happen when twin embryos do not completely separate. In humans, this is called co-joined twins. Read the full story here.
