Royal AM Chairman Andile Mpisane made his first appearance of the season during the club’s 1-0 win over Golden Arrows.

Royal AM beat Arrows at the Harry Gwala Stadium in a KZN derby to end five matches of a winless streak.

Mpisane came from the bench in the 88th minute and only made three touches but that didn’t stop the fans from cheering for the 22-year-old midfielder.

Royal AM coach John Maduka says his chairman works hard in training and has the righ attitude.

“It was very encouraging, he works hard at training,” said Maduka on Mpisane as per iDiski Times.

“It is always good to give him minutes, even if it’s five or six minutes or 10 minutes – he trains well. He has the right attitude at training.

“When he is at training, he doesn’t take himself as a chairman – he works just like everyone else. So it’s good, it’s good to have him.”

Royal AM are five points clear of relegation but a win against Cape Town City on Friday could give them some breathing space. Mpisane could play more minutes should he be part of the squad traveling to Cape Town.
