Wife of slain police officer and three hitmen charged with murder
The 43-year-old wife of Warrant Officer Kolile Kulu and her five co-accused will appear before the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. Kulu was killed in his sleep in August.

The wife of Warrant Officer Kolile Kulu is one of the suspects that was arrested by the Hawks, for the police officer’s brutal murder, this week. The wife and five other suspects, including three alleged assassins, are currently in police custody. They are expected to make an appearance before an Eastern Cape court imminently.
WIFE OF POLICEMAN ARRESTED
Hawks spokesperson Captain Yolisa Mgolodela said that Warrant Officer Kolile Kulu was shot and killed in his home by three unknown men on 30 August.
“The wife is reported to have opened the door and the men asked for the whereabouts of the husband. The men are further alleged to have headed for the room where Kulu was asleep and fatally shot him. The matter was immediately taken over by the East London-based Hawks, which culminated in the arrest of the five this morning [Tuesday, 5 October],” explained Mgolodela.
On Wednesday, 6 October, the 43-year-old wife of the deceased was also arrested and charged with the murder of her police officer husband. She is being detained in a police station in East London.
The wife and all of her co-accused are expected to appear before the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 7 October, according to the Hawks.
