The creator of the Barry Roux parody rap has recorded a new rap song, this time from prosecutor Gerrie Nel, who is currently cross-examining Oscar Pistorius in court.
Highveld stereo breakfast show producer Brad O’Regan has followed up his Barry Roux rap with a comparable number parodying state prosecution’s barrister Gerrie Nel.
Known as “the pitbull” for his tenacious interrogation techniques, Nel has been cross-examining Oscar Pistorius for the last two days during the athlete’s trial for the alleged murder of Reeva Steenkamp.
The rap features the lines: “They call me Gerrie Nel / And I am mad as hell / And when I get you on the stand I will make you tell / I don’t have no feelings / New lies I am revealing / I get emotions in the court to hit the ceiling.”
In reference to Nel’s opposition in the case, O’Regan raps: “You say Barry Roux? / I say Barry who.” The track has already amassed nearly 18,000 plays on Soundcloud in seven hours.
