A thief had one of those “unlucky days” when he snatched a cell phone on Claim Street in Hillbrow, Johannesburg and his victim decided to moer him.
It is not clear when the incident happened but a video has been circulating online.
In the video, the victim and the thief are both walking in the same direction. The victim appears to be busy with his phone and then the thief snatches it.
Luckily the victim is able to trap him and he falls on the ground. He then starts beating him.
The thief tries to get up but the victim continuously stomps on him and kicks his head.
Surprisingly, no one joined the victim in beating up the cell phone snatcher as is normally the case when such happens in a busy street. Especially in Johannesburg. Other people can be seen continuing to go about their ways and others are just standing watching all the action.
No one attempts to “rescue” the cell phone snatcher until a car guard or security makes way to the scene and the victim then stops beating the thief and walks away.
