A driver was forced to swim unprepared when a vehicle they were in sent them nose-first into a swimming pool.

Traffic SA on Twitter shared the shocking photo of the semi-submerged vehicle, which they claimed the accident happened in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng.

Although no report was provided about the exact cause of the accident, upon inspecting the photograph it seems the driver ploughed the vehicle into a palisade fence before landing in the swimming pool inside a private residence.

WAS THE DRIVER INJURED?

It is also uncertain as to whether the driver or any people on the property were injured after the car swim.

But what’s certainly clear is that the vehicle is as good as ‘dead’ as water is known to cause severe damages to a vehicle.

According to CARS24, water can damage every single component inside a car including the engine and transmission.

In reference to a flooded vehicle, CARS24 suggests that you don’t turn on the engine as more water may enter and the problem only worsens.
“When water damages the engine and the pistons don’t compress or move like they normally should, it is called ‘hydrolock’ and it is extremely common in flooded cars. If your car is hydrolocked, you can expect the cost of repairs to be extremely high and in severe cases, the car could completely be destroyed.”

The incident isn’t anything new, in January a video of a Range Rover made rounds on social media as the driver showboated in front of beach goers in Richards Bay.

The Rover is seen drifting along the shoreline with two passengers sticking their heads out the sunroof and waving their hands, IOL reported.

The ending wasn’t as cheerful as the car semi-submerged in the sea.
