Vehicle CRASH: KZN head-on collision leaves two in CRITICAL condition

It has been a bloody weekend on KwaZulu-Natal’s roads as four people were killed and 28 others injured in seperate vehicle collisions

Two people are fighting for their lives in hospital, after being involved in a serious car accident in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday evening, 20 November 2021.

According to IPPS Rescue, it responded to a head-on collision on the R102 in Umhlali, north of KZN.

“Upon arrival on scene it was established that a light motor vehicle and a bakkie had collided head on, resulting in both vehicles leaving the roadway and both drivers being entrapped,” said spokesperson Paul Herbst in a statement.

Advanced life support paramedics, together with KDM fire and rescue, worked to free the victims, who were both critically injured. Once they were extricated, the critically injured patients were transported to his hospital by IPSS Medical Rescue.

ANOTHER KZN ACCIDENT KILLS FOUR PEOPLE

In another (and even more) tragic road accident in KwaZulu-Natal, four people have died after being involved in a vehicle collision on the R66, in the Eshowe area. The crash also occurred on Saturday evening and involved two minibus taxis which were carrying passengers.

According to Arrive Alive, many of the commuters in both taxis sustained injuries in the accident and KZN authorities are investigating.

This evening Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the R66 Eshowe area for reports of a collision. When emergency services arrived they found that 2 taxis had been involved in a collision. Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that 26 patients sustained injuries ranging from critical to minor injuries. The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment. Sadly, 4 occupant sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to their injuries before emergency services arrived. Authorities are on scene investigating.
