While the race to the US presidency continues between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, CNN political reporter Abby Phillip during an interview, said Trump’s career may very well end with a black woman in the White House.

Biden, back in August, announced that Kamala Harris would be his running mate which means if Biden is to win the US election, Harris could very well be America’s next vice president. According to Britannica, her father, who was Jamaican, taught at Stanford University and her mother, the daughter of an Indian diplomat, was a cancer researcher.

‘CARRYING JOE BIDEN TO THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION, BLACK WOMEN DID THAT’ – PHILLIP

CNN correspondent Dana Bash spoke about Harris most likely becoming the first woman of colour to become vice president in the United States.

“Women have been waiting a long time to see representation in the highest levels of government. It may not be the president but it’s right below that and it’s going to be pretty remarkable to watch that,” she said.

“For black women this has been a really proving moment for their political strength. And carrying Joe Biden to the democratic nomination through the primary, black women did that,” said Phillip in response.

“And I think seeing a black woman on the ticket with Joe Biden on the cusp of this moment, I think is something that will go down in history because this has never happened before and not only would black women put Joe Biden in the White House but they would also put a black woman in the White House as well and that is the sort of historical poetry that I think we will live with for a long time,” she added.

DONALD TRUMP’S POLITICAL CAREER BEGAN WITH A RACIST BIRTHER LIE’

Phillip went on to say that Trump’s political career began with the racist birther lie and may very well end with a black woman in the White House.

It was reported that she was referring to Trump’s constant peddling of the racist conspiracy theory that Barack Obama was not born in the United States and was therefore ineligible to serve as president.

Biden recently addressed the nation quite optimistic saying; “We don’t have a final declaration of victory yet but the numbers tell us a clear and convincing story: We’re going to win this race,” he said. He went on to say that the Democrats are well on their way to over 300 electoral college votes.

Trump, in the meantime, said; “I had such a big lead in all of these states late into election night, only to see the leads miraculously disappear as the days went by. Perhaps these leads will return as our legal proceedings move forward!”
