A great achievement.

The UCT business school has now been ranked even higher on the latest Financial Times global top 90 list. A seriously impressive feat for the University of Cape Town (UCT) as well as South Africa as a whole.

The annual Financial Times Executive Education Customised Rankings for 2018 sees the UCT Graduate School of Business (GSB) climb three places to the 67th ranking.

The school has also been ranked 50th for international clients, faculty diversity and future use.

Unsurprisingly, UCT and the GSB are absolutely delighted with this news. Director of Executive Education at the GSB, Kumeshnee West, says the list is proof of the world-class education being offered.

“The GSB is very pleased to be ranked by the Financial Times. It supports our commitment to delivering world-class executive education to our clients. The GSB scored 67 overall on the list, climbing three places from 70 last year.”

As for the “international client” recognition, GSB Business Development Director, Rayner Canning says the opening of an office on Joburg has made all the difference.

“It is also fantastic to see our ‘future use’ score having improved as we’re seeing this on our client retention statistics. I think a big contributing factor to our good ranking has been the opening of an office in Sandton, Johannesburg. GSB Johannesburg, places the GSB in the economic heart of the African continent.”

The school’s future use ranking shows that clients are left impressed with the school and are likely to use it again in the future.

What work does the GSB do?

The GSB draws on experts together with prominent faculty and researchers, to deliver customised programmes to organisations.

The programs meet their particular objectives and generate positive business outcomes. These can range from short interventions to full academic diplomas and qualifications.

If you want another reason to feel impressed and proudly South African, the GSB is one of only three triple-crown accredited African business schools with accreditations.

This means the school has received accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the Association of MBAs and European Quality Improvement System.

Only 89 schools across the globe are triple-crowned.
