Two weeks later – still no sign of Limpopo abducted woman

It’s been two weeks since Refiloe Malope (31) was abducted at the Kgaphamadi village, in Limpopo where she lived.

STILL NO SIGN OF A WOMAN SHOVED IN THE BOOT OF A CAR

It was on 9 May 2022 when residents of the area said they saw men forcing a woman (Malope) into the boot of a white sedan.

The unknown men sped off in the direction of Motsephiri around 10:00.

The Police in Hlogotlou outside Groblersdal in Limpopo, seek information that can assist in tracing the suspects. 

Refiloe Malope was never seen again since this incident occurred.

Meanwhile, police are calling on Modirelwa Maxwell Mokoana, to go to the nearest police station. It is believed that he can assist in the investigations.

According to police, the victim was approached by one of the suspects under the pretense that he was looking for assistance with his vehicle.

When the two arrived at the car, the second suspect suddenly emerged and they forcibly put the Malope into the boot of the car.

“The neighbours were apparently alerted by the frantic screaming of the victim,”

said Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo. 

The Police were called and a search operation for the abducted victim and the hunt for the suspects were immediately launched.

Limpopo Provincial Commissioner of Police Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe established a team of investigators to track down the suspects.

Meanwhile, all Malope’s family wants is for her to be returned back home safely.

David Malope, her brother, told TimesLive that he was called on Monday by his other sister, Tshepiso. She told him that Refiloe had been attacked by people who had initially come and asked for help with their car.

However, David’s account of events differed from the information police initially gave.

“She was sitting in her van where she lives and the people asked to be jump-started. She said to them that she was also stuck and could not help them. When they left the house they met my sister, Tshepiso, coming into the yard,” said David.

“Tshepiso asked Refiloe if she knew them. She said they were related to her girlfriend and she then left and went to the shop. Neighbours said on her way back from the shop,  the people took her,”  

said David.

He said eyewitnesses claimed to have seen two men who forced her into the boot while other men were inside the car.

David said they don’t sleep, and every time the phone rings, they hope to receive information that she has been found. 

Police have also asked anyone with information on Maxwell Mokoana to contact, Sergeant Amos Thekupi on 082 775 5462.
