MOTIVE OF THE SHOOTING REMAINS UNKNOWN

“The facts surrounding the incident and the events preceding it are unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation,” the company reported.

This incident comes days after the shooting incident at Durban’s largest shopping centre, Gateway.

On Sunday, 30 October, a man shot and killed a woman at the shopping centre’s parking lot before turning the gun on himself.

The Centre speculated a domestic dispute to be behind the fatal shooting.

Spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) South African Police Services (SAPS) Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala said that the circumstances are being investigated.

Multiple security vehicles lay strewn across the roadway with the cash van having been blown up by suspects.

The four security officers sustained moderate injuries and were treated and stabilized on the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
There were no fatalities reported.

The South African Police Services (SAPS) were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly.
