Two killed, eleven others injured in tractor accident on farm

Paramedics said two people were killed while eleven others were injured on Thursday when a tractor overturned on a farm.

Two people were killed, one person critically injured and ten others were injured when a tractor overturned on a farm on the Dolphin Coast. 

TWO PEOPLE WERE FATALLY INJURED AND DECLARED DEAD ON SCENE

According to IPSS Medical Rescue, paramedics responded to reports of a tractor that had overturned on a nearby farm.

“A short while ago, IPSS Medical Rescue paramedics, together with Lenmed Ethekwini paramedics and IPSS Search and Rescue division, responded to reports of a tractor that had overturned on a nearby farm.

“On arrival of advanced life support paramedics, it was established that a tractor had overturned, resulting in a mass casualty incident.”

It said one person was critically injured, and paramedics worked to stabilise the patient while crews managed a further ten moderately injured persons.

“Unfortunately, two persons were fatally injured and were declared dead on the scene.

“The injured were transported to medical facilities. Our thoughts to those affected.”

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a man repairing a warehouse roof had fallen fifteen metres through the PVC sheeting to his death in Durban on Tuesday morning. 

THE MAN WAS DECLARED DEAD ON THE SCENE

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst paramedics responded to an industrial incident in Glen Anil, Durban.

“Reports indicate that an adult male repairing a warehouse roof had fallen through the PVC sheeting.

“The patient had fallen approximately fifteen meters, landing on a concrete floor.”

He said the man was assessed by an advanced life support paramedic.

“The male assessed by an advanced life support paramedic; however, the man showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased on the scene.”
