Because who has time for copy editing on a Friday?
News Broadcaster, Africa News Network 7 (DStv channel 405) had South Africans laughing when the words “University of Fart Hare” appeared on the screen instead of the Fort Hare University.
Apparently this is not the first time a mishap like this has happened. According to Channel 24 “this is just the latest on-air gaffe from the DStv channel owned Infinity Media that’s infamous for slip-ups which included a report that a ‘plane was shot dead'”.
The Gupta-owned channel on MultiChoice’s DStv pay-TV platform kept showing viewers “Fart Hare” and this is how viewers and Twitter users responded:
Please ANN7. Respect us. #FartHare pic.twitter.com/ABT1XwxUMT

Fort Hare – Fart Hare. That's what happens when you speak / write English with an American accent
