“This is necessary to remove the ANC and EFF grasp on the City of Tshwane and the unlawful abuse of council to bring further instability and chaos to a municipality that needs services,” Dr. Cornè Mulder said.

The coalition also threatened to take legal steps against Speaker Ndwanana after he adjourned the meeting to elect a new Tshwane mayor this morning, 22 March 2023.

The coalition condemns, in the strongest terms, the conduct of Ndzwanana. They say the decision to terminate the meeting was unlawful.

“The ANC and EFF, along with their partners, have been directly responsible for the instability that has arisen since 28 February, which has produced an unled City whose residents are in need of service delivery. The delaying tactics and termination of the meeting today takes place, once again, at the expense of the residents of Tshwane,” says Mulder.
