Tshidi Mocheko: Police hunt boyfriend after TVET student murdered

Law enforcement in Lephalale are tracking Lesiba Moabi, a day after his girlfriend Tshidi Mocheko was found murdered in a back garden.

Police in Lephalale, Limpopo have launched a manhunt to try and find 36-year-old Lesiba Zachariah Moabi. He’s a wanted man after his girlfriend – Tshidi Mocheko – was discovered in the backyard of a local property.

SAPS made a gruesome discovery: They described a horrendous scene, where the victim had suffered multiple stab-wounds and he been dumped in the garden. Her body was found on Monday morning, and a murder investigation was opened immediately.

Local law enforcement have issued a statement on the matter. They confirmed that Tshidi Mocheko was a TVET student at Lephalale College, and she was apparently nine years younger than her partner:

“The police in Lephalale have launched a manhunt for the suspect responsible for the murder of a TVET College student whose body was found in the yard of a certain house at Onverwacht, Lephalale today, 10 February 2020 at about 09:00. A team of investigators are now on the case.”

“The owner of the said house, who is said to be the sister of the deceased’s boyfriend, reported the discovery to the police and on arrival, they found the deceased lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. The deceased was identified as Tshidi Mocheko (27) of Onverwacht and was a student at Lephalale TVET College.”

Finding Lesiba Moabi

Moabi has been given the chance to turn himself in peacefully by Limpopo SAPS. However, he’s now been on the run for more than 24 hours. Officers remain hopeful of snaring their suspect within the next few days.
