Three die in horrifying accident, specialized equipment used to free the bodies from wreck

Specialized equipment was used to free the three bodies from the wreck when a bakkie collided with a tree in Bloemfontein on Friday evening. 

SEVERAL EMS SERVICES ATTENDED TO THE HORRIFYING ACCIDENT 

According to Med247 ambulance services, the accident happened around 23:10 on Friday evening in Scholtz Street, Universitas, Bloemfontein. 

“On arrival at the scene paramedics found a single vehicle that had collided with a tree. On further inspection, paramedics found three people in the vehicle entrapped with fatal injuries and were declared dead on the scene.”

Mangaung fire & rescue had to use specialized equipment to free the bodies from the wreck. 

The scene was handed over to Parkweg Police for further investigation.

Meanwhile, a man was killed after being ejected from his car in a single-vehicle accident on the M27 in Tea Estate, Inanda on Friday.

THE MAN WAS FOUND SEVERAL METERS AWAY FROM CAR

Reaction Unit SA spokesperson Prem Balram said the accident happened early on Friday morning.

“A passerby contacted RUSA at approximately 07:31 requesting assistance after they noticed the wreckage on the side of the road.

“Reaction Officers and RUSA paramedics were dispatched to the scene and on arrival noticed a man lying several meters away from a grey Volvo S40.”

Balram said the vehicle has Gauteng registration plates.

He furthermore said the 42-year-old was found to have suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident and died before the arrival of First Responders.

“Circumstances leading up to the accident have not been confirmed; however, it is believed that the man lost control of his vehicle, which left the road before it overturned several times.”

The man was ejected in the process.

Meanwhile, nine people were injured in an accident later on Friday afternoon when two vehicles collided on the Jabu Ngcobo Drive near Waterloo, KZN.

“Nine people were injured in a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Jabu Ngcobo Drive near Waterloo, KZN this afternoon on Friday.”
