The class of 2014 is out, and Zuma doesn’t even meet the pass mark

The DA has released its annual government score-card, rating el presidente and his cabinet from one to ten based on how great they’ve been doing their jobs.

The class of 2014 is out, and

Every year the Democratic Alliance publishes their government report-card. It’s kinda like a school report, only it doesn’t really count for anything. It’s meant to, but you know… a lot of things are meant to matter in SA — transparency, democracy, honesty — but just don’t.

Anyway, they keep doing it even though the ANC-led government really doesn’t care. In fact, they’ve all been scoring worse as their time in government goes on; it’s like a badge of honour for them. You know those kids you used to get in school, the ones who deliberately act out and get bad marks, because it ‘makes them cool’? Well, our current government is kinda like that.

Zuma, of course, is the leader of the gang of ‘cool kids’ and as such he scores as low as it goes.

“The lacklustre performance by President Jacob Zuma and most members of his bloated Cabinet had contributed to the general deterioration in SA,” said DA Parliamentary leader, Mmusi Maimane.

Other underachievers include Tina Joemat-Pettersen, Faith (or lack thereof) Muthambi and Ebrahim Patel.

Not all is lost though. It seems that reshuffling loyal cronies throughout government positions, until we find them a place where they don’t completely screw up — breathe — has worked for Naledi Pandor. The now Minister of Science and Technology seems to have found her forte, after screwing up the Department of Education as well as Home Affairs in previous years.

The ANC has, as per usual, said that they refuse to accept ‘this publicity stunt’ and that it’s meant ‘to discredit the government’. Well, the government seems all too capable of doing that themselves now, don’t they?
