Tesla has been working on a portable lithium-ion battery that could power your home in times of darkness. Ok so what’s so revolutionary about this, we’ve already got batteries charged by solar panels?
Well, besides the fact that it’s one of the world’s most innovative companies building this thing – you can be sure it’s going to perform better than anything else out there –, the Tesla rechargeable battery can be charged from any station… so you don’t necessarily need your own solar panels to charge it.
Imagine a market without Eskom politics, a space where we as individuals supply each other with energy to power everything from our homes to our businesses. The ANC might not want to privatise electricity, but they can’t stop the people from doing it themselves.
“We have the design done, and it should start going into production in about six months or so,” said Musk, billionaire CEO of Tesla and the solar energy company, SolarCity.
