BREAKING: Ten family members shot dead in Pietermaritzburg

Police Minister Bheki Cele will visit the crime scene where ten people believed to be family members were shot dead in Pietermaritzburg.

At least ten people believed to be family members were allegedly shot dead at their home at Imbali Unit 14 in Pietermaritzburg.

The gruesome incident happened on Thursday night, 20 April.

TEN KILLED IN PIETERMARITZBURG

Police Minister, Bheki Cele is expected to visit the crime scene which according to the South African Police Service (SAPS) in KwaZulu-Natal is still active.

FOUR KILLED IN KWAMASHU

Four men were shot dead in B Section, KwaMashu, Durban, on Thursday, 20 April.

The victims were sitting together when gunmen burst into the house and opened fire.

According to SABC Newsthe victims were two brothers who lived in the house. The other men were a neighbour and a friend.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the victims were sitting together in a room when unknown suspects ran into the house and shot them dead .

The suspects used the car of one of the victims as a getaway, added the police spokesperson.

“The reports we are getting is that unknown number of suspects, but believed to be between three and four, came to the house opened fire, killing all four instantly. They came on foot but left with a vehicle that belong [sic] to one of the deceased, the one who had visited,” said Netshiunda, per SABC News.
