DENOSA has warned the public against a scam seeking donations for the nurse who was fatally shot at Tembisa Hospital this week.

The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) in Gauteng has warned the public about a scam seeking donations for the deceased nurse who was fatally shot at Tembisa Hospital this week.
The nurse was shot seven time in the head and neck by her partner, a police officer.
DENOSA WARNS AGAINST SCAM
The nursing organisation said they confirmed with the family and the banking details on the scam brochure do not belong to any of the family members.
“DENOSA urges both the nursing population and the public to ignore this scam, which merely seeks to benefit opportunistically from the agony of the Monene family in this trying time.”

TEMBISA HOSPITAL STAFF REMEMBER MONENE
On Thursday, staff at the hospital held a memorial service for the late Lebogang Monene who was in her thirties.
CEO of Tembisa Hospital Dr. Ashley Mthunzi spoke highly of Monene.
“She tried to change the landscape and narrative of Tembisa hospital. She was too meticulous in her tasks, and took her patients and this job seriously.”
“She donned her uniform and came to work with no knowledge of what was going to happen.”
Speaking outside of Lebo Monene’s home Gauteng Health MEC Dr Nomathemba Mokgethi said following the tragic incident they had a meeting with various organised labour structures.
She said during the meeting with management and labour unions at Tembisa Hospital a decision to review and implement security measures that would enhance the protection of staff and patients would be considered.
SLAIN NURSE LEAVE TWO BOYS BEHIND
According to Monene’s brother, Daniel Thobakgale, leaves behind two young boys.
Thobakgale said the relationship between his sister and the police officer was a toxic one.
He added that the police officer would tell her he was going to shoot her when they would have arguments leading to her leaving the relationship.
“Our hearts are in pain at the moment and we are still overwhelmed by what happened,” said Thobakgale.
